MARCH SAT REGISTRATION DEADLINE – Juniors are reminded that the registration deadline for the March 10^th SAT is Friday, February 10^th. Go to sat.collegeboard.org/register to sign up.

SOPHOMORES – PLAN Test results are available. Stop into guidance to sign up for an appointment.

THE 2011-2012 YEARBOOK are still available at the price of $65 until April 20^th, 2012. Forms are available in room 96. Please return orders to your homeroom teacher.

TRESSA BURNS LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP – students currently in 2^nd or 3^rd year of a world language who plan to continue their language study next year should see their teacher for information regarding the Tressa Burns scholarship.

NHS MEMBERS ARE REMINDED THAT ALL DAFFODIL ORDERS must be turned into Mrs. Donovan or Mrs. Fisher by Friday February 10^th.

FRENCH CLUB MEETING will be Thursday February 9^th in room 104. We will be celebrating “La Fete de Saint Valentin”.

SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB will have its first meeting on Tuesday, February 7 @ 3:05 in room 106B. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. See Emily Curtis or Amanda Berchtold for more details.

THERE WILL BE A HISTORY CLUB MEETING Tuesday February 7^th in room 112. We will be celebrating Charles Dickens’ 200^th birthday! Please bring snacks if you would like.

ATTENTION SKI CLUB MEMBERS AND THOSE GOING ON THE SKI TRIP:  order forms are available at the front office for apparel for the trip and also the green uniform sweatshirts and sweat pants.  Pick up the order form from Mrs. Dworakowski’s office. ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10……NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

AGAIN THIS YEAR, THE STUDENTS OF PIA WILL BE SPONSORING A NIGHT OF GOOD FOOD FROM AROUND THE WORLD AND ENTERTAINMENT THAT RUNS THE GAMUT FROM THE RIDICULOUS TO THE SUBLIME!! For only ten dollars, the students and adults of MPS can eat, shop, laugh, and sit in awe as the PIA family raises money for the Second Harvest Food Bank. On March 15 from six until 8 pm, this annual event will please the most discriminating palates and critics. Be sure to purchase your tickets from the students of PIA in the cafeteria before school and at three o’clock. Tickets will be for sale until Feb. 24, 2012. Tickets may also be purchased from Ms. Aste in room 99. Spaces are limited so don’t wait!!

THE PEACE AND JUSTICE ORGANIZATION will meet Thursday, February 9, after school in room 107B. We will discuss a spring project/fund raiser. To those who attended the Christmas Party - see Ms. Rounsley for service hours.

SHOOTING FOR A CURE: please join the Mercyhurst Prep girl’s basketball team as they shoot for a cure in their fight against breast cancer. They are selling bracelets for $2.00 and pink ribbons for a $1.00. They can be purchased in the athletic office or during your lunch period. The game will be Friday Feb. 17^th at 7:30 vs. Northeast.

SPAGHETTI DINNER AT OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL - Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Erie is holding its 17th annual spaghetti dinner sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 4071 at OLMC Scheffner Hall, 1553 E. Grandview Blvd., Erie on Sunday Feb. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 814.825.6706 for information on volunteering to help.

ANY SOPHOMORE OR JUNIOR GIRL CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A WORLD LANGUAGE CLASS WHO IS INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE KATIE SHERIFF TRAVEL ABROAD SCHOLARSHIP should be sure to pick up the necessary information from Mrs. Laughlin as soon as possible. Applications are due to Mrs. Laughlin by February 15.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Italian American Women’s Association is offering a scholarship opportunity to senior girls who are of Italian heritage. Information on how to apply for this scholarship is available from Mr. Hurst. Application Deadline is April 1, 2012.
