JUST A REMINDER FOR ALL SENIORS PLANNING ON GOING TO CEDAR POINT THIS FRIDAY THE 16TH:  You must have your permission slips to Mr. Schroeck by today the 15th.  No permission slips will be accepted the morning of the trip.

 

MPS CAFETERIA PRESENTS – A DIPPIN’ DOT DAY!!  Dippin’ Dot ice cream will be served during lunch today, May 15th. Cost is $3 - $4. 

 

SENIOR UNIFORM CLOTHING: Beginning next Monday, seniors are invited to donate their uniform parts to Campus Ministry.  Please make sure that all clothing is in very good condition, clean, with no stains or tears.   Only hoodies without the class year will be accepted.  Thank you for being so helpful in this way.

 

IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE THEIR PROM PICTURES IN THE YEARBOOK – Please bring them to Room 96 or to Ms. Merski by Friday, May 16th.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

THERE WILL BE A WOMEN IN MOTION MEETING Wed. 21st of May in Room 105 a.  The purpose of this meeting is to elect next year’s office and discuss the Walk.   This meeting is for Juniors.   Any questions please see Ms. Betti or Laura Salorino in the Health Room.  

 

FRENCH CLUB:  Any members who were unable to attend our year-end banquet at Bertrand’s may see Mme Marsh in 107B Friday to pick up your gift.

 

STUDENTS, PARENTS, and CHAPERONES WHO WENT TO GREECE IN MARCH OF 2008:  You are cordially invited for a Greek dinner of pork and chicken souvlaki at Julie and Josh Pecar’s home on June 5th at 5:30 p.m.  Julie will be grilling!  Please bring a Greek supplement: salad, feta cheese, dessert, drink, bread for dipping, olive oil, olives or whatever you desire.  If you would like to come right after school, Julie says that is fine.  Simply go east on Grandview, over to Conrad  to 4730 Conrad Road and she will be waiting.  A sign-up sheet on the door of 105 B will be posted for you to sign up.  We just can’t let go of this!  Bring pictures!

 

SPEECH AND DEBATE members are asked to sign-up to judge our final EJFL tournament on Tuesday May 20th. The sign-up sheet is located on the Speech and Debate board by Mrs. Laughlin’s office. Please sign-up by Monday the 19th, at the latest.

 

ATTENTION ALL ITS MEMBERS – The next ITS meeting is Monday, May 19 after school in the lower auditorium.  This is a very important meeting as it is the last of the year, we have many things to discuss about induction on Friday, May 23, and we will be electing the new officers of the 2008-09 school year.  Also, please remember that money and RSVPs for induction are due no later than Friday, May 16.  Please put your money and RSVP in an envelope with your name and homeroom on the outside.  RSVPs can be given to Tricia Corbran, homeroom 203, or turned into her mailbox in room 104. ATTENTION ALL ITS SENIORS – The sign-up sheet for the Senior Showcase has been posted on the ITS board.  Please sign-up to perform or help with the performance no later than Friday, May 16.  Only people who have worked as stage crew members in the past may do so for this showcase.  If you are one of those people and wish to be on stage crew, please get approval from an officer before signing up, and write his or her name next to where you write that you wish to be on stage crew.  Also, those of you performing are not restricted to singing songs, but can also perform things such as monologues, scenes, instrumental pieces, dances, etc., too.

 

THE STREET CLEANUP OF GRANDVIEW will be today (5/15) after school.  Please join the AWARE club in making our neighborhood a little nicer for everyone.  Meet in 206 to get supplies.

 

The AWARE club picnic will be June 7th at Presque Isle.  All members should stop in 206 and sign up to attend.

MISCELLANEOUS

PAID BABYSITTING JOB:  West 26th and Liberty area.  Occasional, one to two times per week, evening babysitting for a two- year-old little girl.  You must provide your own transportation.

SUMMER LAWN MOWING JOB:  If you live near 309 East 38th Street and would like to earn some summer cash by mowing the backyard of this home, call Pat Baginski (the homeowner) at 825-8097. 

GUIDANCE

SUMMER SCIENCE PROGRAMSophomores and juniors who like science and environmental studies should check out the two-week Regional Summer School of Excellence this July at Gannon University.  A good program- and FREE.  See Mr. Froehlich for info and applications.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

THE FEED THE HUNGRY SUNDAY DINNER PROJECT is in need of several items to use for summer meals.  Needed are:  Styrofoam plates, cups, bowls, plastic forks, knives and spoons, large aluminum roasting pans and the plastic trays with covers that come with deli trays.  If you have any of these items to donate, please bring them to Ms. Zimmerman in Campus Ministry.

 

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:  Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mission Club is looking for volunteers to help with can recycling.  Times are flexible.  If you are interested, call Mrs. Mary Marucci at 825-2822.  Leave your name and number and you will be called back with more information.

CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, MAY 17TH FROM 8 – 12 IN THE GYM.  PRACTICES WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 15TH AND FRIDAY, MAY 16TH FROM 4 – 6 IN THE GYM.  NEW MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TRYOUT.  ANY QUESTIONS CONTACT COACH CORTNEY, HER NUMBER WILL BE IN THE FRONT OFFICE.
