5. Spend time locating: Mecca, Medina, Damascus, Karbala, Baghdad, Egypt, Istanbul, Iran, Pakistan on map to better understand where Islam began and where it resides today.
6. Give reading time: pp. 136-149.

Objective: the students will be introduced to the sacred scriptures of Islam: Qur’an, Sunna, Hadith
Procedure:
1. Attendance and prayer

4. Give portions of Hadith to students and allow them to discuss in small groups and then “translate” to the larger class.
5. Read two sections of the Qur’an, one on the prophets and one on the birth of Jesus. Discuss differences in meanings as compared to the Torah and the New Testament.
